Further information

We wish to appoint for September 2017 an exceptional teacher of Maths with a proven track record of raising standards at KS4, who can demonstrate inspirational teaching and a passion for delivering lessons which are motivational, challenging and engaging to learners with a wide range of abilities. Experience of successful delivery in A level Maths and Further Maths would be desirable, but is not essential.

We welcome applications from experienced teachers with a strong track record of examination success. We also welcome applications from colleagues at a relatively early stage of their career with excellent academic credentials and subject knowledge as well as strong leadership potential.

The post holder will be responsible for designing and leading an innovative collaborative scheme with selected secondary schools in the Tees Valley, to improve the attainment of KS4 pupils, raise aspirations and thereby promote participation in further and higher education. This would involve working extensively with teachers and pupils in those schools. A level teaching at the Guisborough or Stockton sites of the sixth form college would also be available for an appropriately qualified candidate.

To be successful you should demonstrate:
• Passion for the subject
• Excellence in teaching – in placements and/or substantive post(s)
• Up to date knowledge of pedagogical developments
• Preparedness to apply and be successful as an SLE
• Ambition and competence to lead and develop the practice of others
• Confidence and familiarity in delivery a Maths mastery curriculum
We particularly welcome applicants from beyond the Tees Valley in order to broaden and enrich our skillset and attract expertise to an area which is a great place to live, learn and work.
