A part-time permanent Instructor of Music is required for 3.5 days per week to provide high standards of tuition and pastoral care and reporting in order to enable young people to achieve their educational potential.

The post holder will be responsible to the Head Teacher under the supervision of a designated Assistant Head.

Key responsibilities:

1. Assessment: To undertake the initial and ongoing assessment of young people’s academic and social performance and attainment.

2. Planning and Preparation: To plan programme of study and prepare relevant materials and resources for individuals and groups.

3. Teaching: To deliver planned programmes of study to individuals and groups to a high professional standard.

4. Recording and Reporting: To record young people’s progress on an ongoing basis and to produce regular reports as required.

5. Curriculum Development: To continue to curriculum development in relevant areas.

6. Pastoral Care: To provide pastoral care and support to named young people.

7. Partnership: To liaise and communicate with parents, carers, colleagues and other professionals as appropriate.

8. Supervision: To supervise individuals and groups in the school premises and on trips as are required.

The successful candidate will be subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check.

Required qualifications: Vocational Qualification C & G 706/1 & 706/2 or equivalent.
