Facilities Management are looking to recruit a full time Heating Engineer on a permanent basis. The role is within our Building Maintenance team to provide services to Council buildings and external clients.

The successful candidate will work at a variety of locations across Gateshead, installing repairing and maintaining installations and will be expected to work with a lot of flexibility in terms of where they are employed.

The key roles of the post are included in the job profile and include a wide range of duties working on domestic and commercial heating and plumbing systems. At all times the successful candidate will be expected to liaise with clients and provide a high level of customer care.

It is essential that you have knowledge of maintenance and servicing regimes and relevant legislation, good verbal and written communication skills and experience of working on domestic and commercial boiler replacements and gas installations. Candidates must have working knowledge of relevant legislation including COSHH Regs. It is equally essential that you have time served / NVQ or equivalent gas and heating engineer qualification,non-domestic ACS gas qualification elements COCN1, CDGA1, CIGA1, a current CSCS card and a full (Category B) UK driving licence.

It is desirable, but not essential, that you have knowledge of local government policies and procedures, wider health and safety regulations including CDM Regs. Knowledge of LPG systems and gas bottle safety is also desirable.

It is desirable, but not essential, that you have qualifications in welding, unvented water heater training (Building Regulations G3), Water Regulations Training, domestic ACS gas qualification (elements CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1, CPA1, HTR1 and DAH1), non-domestic ACS gas qualification (elements CORT1,ICAE 1LS, ICPN, TPCP1A, EFJLP1) and LPG qualification CCLP1.
