The Governing Body are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, experienced and motivated Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENDCO) with responsibility for managing and co-ordinating special educational needs provision within the school.

We are looking for an applicant who:
• Is hardworking with a commitment to develop the provision of services within Carville Primary
• Understands the needs of parents and carers of children with special educational needs
• Is passionate about making a difference in children's lives

The successful candidate will preferably:
• Have experience in a similar role elsewhere
• A comprehensive understanding of current legislation regarding the provision of SEN support
• A sound understanding of the referral processes within North Tyneside and Newcastle LA areas
• An ability to identify the impact of interventions on a child’s well-being and attainment
• Demonstrate committed to inclusion and success for all pupils
• Be determined and resilient.

This post will commence as soon as possible and will be fixed-term until 31st August 2018 but could be extended.

Working hours: the post equates to one or two days per week however the post holder needs to be flexible about the working pattern.
