The Benefit Cap is one of the Welfare Reform changes that has been introduced by the Government and from November 2016 more householders will become affected.

The Benefit Cap Advisor will be expected to engage with customers affected by the Benefit Cap, having the ability to build up and maintain a good relationship. The Benefit Cap Advisor will support customers through these changes by working with them to offer a range of specialist advice including benefit advice, budgeting support and employment support. Knowledge in any of these areas would be an advantage.

The role will include the completion of detailed and accurate case management files as well as recording accurate data on monitors for analysis regarding the impact of the Benefit Cap.

The post holder will be expected to liaise with partners and agencies, to offer support to customers and develop opportunities for training and employment.
