Are you passionate about making a difference for children and young people?

Following a review of our Safeguarding, Assessment and Support Unit we are creating 5 new Assistant Team Manager Posts to support our continued drive for improvement and achieve our vision of providing a Better Childhood in Hartlepool. The postholder will be responsible for a small caseload and will provide reflective supervision, support and modelling for social workers.

The post holder will have a lead role in mentoring and developing newly qualified social workers as part of the ASYE programme. The postholder will be expected to deputise in the team manager’s absence and support the team manager in attending and chairing meetings.

We are committed to providing high quality services to children, young people and their families. To do this we provide an excellent working environment where you will feel valued and supported by a visible and accessible senior management team, reflective supervision, excellent training and professional development opportunities.

Our most recent Ofsted inspection judged us as being ‘good’ regarding the effectiveness of our safeguarding services and outcomes for children and young people.

You should possess a recognised Social Work qualification that permits registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). You need to have been qualified for at least 3 years and it is desirable that you have obtained a Post Qualifying Award and/or Practice Teachers/Educators Award.

We are looking for reflective practitioners who are committed to continuous improvement, who have a proven ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with children, families and stakeholders and have excellent organisational, communication and assessment skills.

Hartlepool Borough Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. This post is subject to safer recruitment measures, including an enhanced DBS barring list check and also need to be registered with the HCPC.
