The charity seeks an Assistant Manager (Operations & Facilities) to work in and from Avondale House in Newcastle. Avondale House is situated in Byker, an area within easy reach of Newcastle city centre. The House comprises 31 one-bedroom flats, with communal areas and facilities, which are available to veterans and their partners. We are looking for a self-motivated, inspirational individual who wants to play a key part in this exciting charity as Assistant Manager (Operations & Facitlities) (AM(O&F)). Experience of facilities’ management is necessary and that experience could be from Quartermaster appointments in the Armed Forces, but it may be from elsewhere. The AM(O&F) will also have responsibility for mentoring veterans, devising with them and monitoring their progress towards independent living. Candidates should have worked with community organisations and possess an empathy with military personnel. This is a challenging but rewarding opportunity and we are able to offer a range of learning and development opportunities to the successful candidate once they are up and running. Remuneration will be circa £20K plus 2% pension contribution per annum, rising with experience. The encumbent is entitled to 28 days holiday, inclusive of bank holidays. The AM(O&F) is expected to live on site and details will be discussed at interview. This post is subject to a Standard DBS disclosure. AF&V Launchpad is an equal opportunities employer. The closing date for applications is 1700 hours on 17th November 2016. Interviews will take place a week or two later. The successful applicant must be able to take up their appointment in early Jan 17. If you wish to apply for the job, please send your CV and covering letter in hard copy or electronically to: Kate Pitchford AF&V Launchpad Ltd 3 Hansard Mews Holland Park London W14 8BJ Email: kate.pitchford@afv-launchpad.co.uk The covering letter should be one page long and succinctly outline your suitability for the job, including whether or not you can, and wish to, live in Avondale House.
