This is a permanent contract for a class teacher position in either Key Stage 1 or 2 with whole school responsibilities for the leadership and management of English and working as part of the School Senior Leadership Team as Assistant Head Teacher.

Due to the promotion of the current postholder we are in the exciting position of looking for an experienced primary class teacher with the passion, drive, commitment and experience to provide the very best education for children in either Key Stage 1 or 2 and take our outstanding level of English achievement to new heights. In this role you will be a member of our wider Senior Leadership Team as Head of English and Assistant Head Teacher.
You would be joining a large team of highly supportive teachers in this very popular and dynamic school where high standards of achievement in academic, sporting and artistic success are central to our core purpose.
West Jesmond is a large (3 form entry), very successful and happy school now occupying a wonderful new building, in the heart of a vibrant and diverse community. The Executive Head teacher and Governing Body are looking to appoint an outstanding primary teacher with experience in teaching and leading English education. The successful applicant must be able to make a real and positive contribution to the education of our children and be able to co-ordinate and improve even further the high quality of our English teaching across the school. In the role you will also have some class teaching responsibilities alongside dedicated release time to fulfil management duties. As such, you will be a leader of all aspects of English teaching and learning and model outstanding teaching.
