Advisory and Support Teacher

Emotional Wellbeing and Effective Learning Service

2 x Full Time posts - Salary MPS-UPS + TLR2

This is a key post within the Emotional Wellbeing and Effective Learning (EWEL) Team, which is part of the Educational Psychology Service. The role of this multi-disciplinary team is to improve the wellbeing, achievement and resilience of socially and emotionally vulnerable children and young people; and to support schools to develop their capacity to effectively meet the needs of their vulnerable learners.

You will be part of a multi-disciplinary service and will support work across the team; which includes Educational Psychologists, Counsellors, and a range of Specialist Support Staff as well as other Specialist Advisory Teachers. The team provide:

• Assessment, screening and consultation in relation to the social, emotional
and mental health (SEMH) needs of children within school contexts
• Contribution to CAMHS assessments around children with attention
difficulties and associated SEMH needs
• Advice and consultation on how SEMH needs impact on learning and
inclusion
• Intervention at individual, group and whole class levels; and school
development support
• Facilitation of staff professional development sessions around attention
difficulties, ADHD and other SEMH needs of children and young people
• Training and network support for a range of evidence based programmes
• Research and development support aimed at developing evidence based
practice

As part of the team there is are considerable opportunities to develop your own practice, and to become involved in a range of initiatives. There will be a planned induction arrangement that can be tailored to your interests and needs.

Essential Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status
Evidence of ongoing professional development
