What the role will involve?
We are a highly performing finance team that provides excellent support to managers across the organisation. As part of the Financial Management team you will be leading on the technical support of the Capital Programme. This includes the capital budget preparation, capital budgetary control and closure of accounts.
Who are we looking for?
You will need experience of working in a strong finance team. You will ideally have knowledge of local authority accounting regulations and practice, especially relating to capital monitoring and accounting, as well as awareness of statutory reporting requirements associated with local government. Sound communication and organisation skills are essential.
To be successful you will need to illustrate the ability to oversee a technical accounting area and be able to plan and prioritise activities in line with team objectives. The full job person specification lists the essential skills and knowledge we are looking for in this role.
