We are looking to recruit a part-time Occupational Health Nurse. You must be a Registered Nurse (RN) and have a professionally accepted qualification in Occupational Health. You will be responsible for ensuring high clinical standards and effectiveness of service to support the performance management framework for People and Organisational Change Service and the Council’s wider Culture and Values.

About The Role
The role itself is varied and will involve advising HR and managers, leading on triage of referrals, undertaking pre-placement health screening and medicals, health surveillance, sickness absence referrals, the delivery of health promotion campaigns, promoting best practice, leading on the development of Occupational Health policies and procedures, whilst supporting the management of the team. You will provide a professional first-level occupational health services to South Tyneside Council and schools across the Borough.
About You
The role will appeal to qualified Occupational Health Nurses who have the commitment and drive to make a difference and who can work equally well independently or as part of a team. A great attitude as well as excellent communication skills are essential. We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and experienced individual to work collaboratively with the full-time Occupational Health Nurse to lead on the day-to-day management of the Occupational Health Unit and team. Our multi-disciplinary team includes two full-time Occupational Health Nurses, Counsellors, Occupational Health Physicians and an Administrative Support Team.
