The Directorate is formed of 4 pillars which support delivery of high quality, effective services across the city, this role leads on the Quality Strategy and Innovation pillar within the Directorate.
Quality, Strategy and Innovation
The work of this part of the Directorate underpins and informs all of the work we do, from adult social care finance, council wide complaints services, innovation and strategy development, through to readiness for CQC inspection.
Prevention
Including our newly formed ‘front door’, our Prevention services work to give people in our city efficient access to the right information and services at the right time. Teams include hospital social work, digital services, social care direct and reablement services, as well as Newcastle Neighbourhoods
Care and Support
Our building based services operate within this area of the Directorate, including dementia services, rehabilitation services, learning disability and autism services. Our supported employment team and risk management team also work within this section of the directorate.
Community Support
Our social work teams primarily within this arm of the Directorate with a move to a community based model underway currently. Adult Safeguarding Team also sit within his section of the directorate along with our Principal Social Worker and our Welfare Rights Service.
What about the Role?
This role has accountability for ensuring high quality care, a continuous improvement in standards and the implementation of reflective learning in to practice as well as the transformation of commissioned services and the development of strategic long-term plans.
This role provides dedicated strategic and operational leadership focussing on innovation, improvement and assurance embedding directorate strategy into services via commissioning and procurement and service improvement and development.

This role is ideal for a motivated, dedicated individual with a keen eye for detail and commitment to quality and innovation. You will be confident in engaging effectively with a number of stakeholders and various audiences and you will be skilled in adapting you style and approach depending on the audience and subject matter.
