The post is to provide an efficient and effective service to administer all aspects of Blue Badge applications on behalf of the Department for Transport in respect of both adults and children.
 
The service includes managing eligibility queries, processing both paper and online applications for mobility and hidden disability applications, evaluating supporting evidence, ordering badges, managing correspondence around the application including unsuccessful applications and ensuring all applications are recorded on the services central database.
 
Blue Car Badge Administrators manage the process from end to end, referring people who require mobility assessments to Occupational Therapists and processing appeal requests, which go to the senior occupational therapist for review.
 
This busy role requires the ability to work autonomously, the Blue Car Badge Administrator will have good organisation skills, be required to manage post, online applications, emails and phone calls. The applicant will also need to be proficient with IT and will receive training in use of multiple software systems.
 
Excellent customer service skills are required to deal with a wide range of people and types of queries. The job applicant needs to be aware that blue badge applications can contain a lot of sensitive information about complex medical and social situations for both adults and children. The information provided is used to complete a decision-making tool to support the Blue Car Badge Administrator make decisions on eligibility.
