Newcastle Parking Services play a key role in supporting residents; businesses and visitors across the city through the provision of parking places and enforcement of parking and bus lane restrictions to keep the city moving and maintain the safety of pedestrians; drivers and their passengers.
The team has also been involved with the introduction and enforcement of a Clean Air Zone to help reduce the number of polluting vehicles entering the city and improve the quality of the air that we breathe.
We currently have an opportunity for 1 new staff to join the large Parking Services team on a permanent basis, subject to satisfactory completion of a probation period.
The Candidate
This is an exciting time to secure a role to assist in the processing of Parking, Bus Lane Penalty Charge Notices, Litter Fixed Penalty Notices and Clean Air Zone Penalty Charge Notices by dealing with all related correspondence in accordance with authorised procedures.
The workload is varied and can range from processing applications for parking permits and exemptions to enter the Clean Air Zone, to using analytical skills in assessing appeals, plus customer service skills for a wide range of queries.
Candidates must enjoy employing good IT skills whilst using generic and bespoke software systems and work within data protection guidelines.
We work in a fast-paced; high volume; team environment where team members get to demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills.
You will have the opportunity to work flexibly across the working week between office and home to suit your work life balance and to meet the needs of the business, following completion of your initial training period, which will need to be office based.
To enable you to do that you would need access to the internet via wi-fi in your home. You would be provided with the IT equipment to enable you to work from home.
