Newcastle City Council is looking to appoint two student planners on a one-year fixed term contract to support the delivery of its planning service. The post-holders will work on a range of projects ranging from large city centre redevelopments to assessing householder extensions  to enable them to gain experience in development management and planning policy, as well as working on the digitisation of the planning service.

Applicants must be working towards a degree or post-graduate qualification relevant to urban planning. At interview you will be required to demonstrate an understanding of planning legislation and how you have good communication skills, with the ability to identify solutions to solve problems, as well as having experience in collaborative working to flexible timescales.
