About Us
Our approach to area management is changing in South Tyneside. We are a forward thinking Council that is developing innovative approaches to meet our challenges. Focusing on People, Place and Partnerships, this is a great time to join us.
With our new Council Leadership, and a recent service review, we are looking to improve the delivery of street cleansing services. Our aim is to achieve excellent quality standards, to ensure that residents live in clean, green and connected communities where they feel safe.
Joining us at this time will ensure that you part of a team committed to making positive changes. As an organisation we are fully committed to supporting our staff to grow and develop and will provide you with the opportunity to use your existing skills and to learn new ones.
About The Role
Working with colleagues, you will be responsible for the delivery of high-quality, customer focused street cleansing services within the Borough. This role has lots of interesting challenges along with opportunities to make a real difference to the living environments of residents and to help provide a positive welcome for visitors to the area.
About You
You will be self-motivated with a positive approach to service provision. You will have good communication skills and enjoy working as part of a team. Flexibility and a willingness to work occasional weekends, when required, are essential. You should also be able to carry out physical activity associated with this role. Experience of working with the public and of working outdoors will be beneficial, along with a willingness to learn and develop new skills to enhance your role.
