Are you a qualified Social Worker looking to take that next step in your professional career – If so, South Tyneside want to hear from you!
We take pride in our social work teams, where staff feel valued and supported. We offer excellent rates of pay, hybrid and flexible working opportunities, manageable caseloads, and access to a comprehensive range of mentoring, training, and career progression opportunities.
About the Role:
This post is based within our Neighbourhood Teams, and it provides an exciting career opportunity for Social Workers who are passionate about delivering a high-quality service and who want to be encouraged and supported to be the best they can be in their chosen career.
If you are a newly qualified Social Worker, we provide a comprehensive (ASYE) programme which includes strong mentorship, regular supervision, a protected caseload, and a substantial training programme.
Our Neighbourhood Teams use a Conversational Approach which focuses on a person’s strengths to collaboratively identify how their care and support needs can best be met and which recognises the importance of exploring family, friends, carers, and community supports available.
The role involves being a named worker for a manageable number of people and to support you we have a comprehensive plan of induction, on-going mentorship, regular supervision, and a very collaborative team ethos.
The role is also supported by access to CPD opportunities which are tailored to individual and service needs; these include Best Interest Assessor and Practice Educator training modules.
About You:
You must be a qualified Social Worker who is registered with Social Work England.
Have excellent communication skills and possess the drive, ambition, and commitment to practice within a busy, pro-active, and supportive team, who actively maximise the independence and wellbeing of the people we support.
You are able to demonstrate an applied knowledge of Adult Social Care legislation and best practice and you are willing to undertake further learning and development to support your on-going progression.
About Us:
South Tyneside are a forward-thinking Council that is developing innovative approaches which focus on People, Place and Partnerships.
We have developed a new 5-year Vision and Strategy for Adult Social Care to help support the next stage of our journey. Working closely with all our partners our vision for the future is to see every person in South Tyneside with care and support needs “Living Better Lives,” to fully utilise their strengths and assets, to remain safe and well; in the neighbourhoods and communities they call home. We want to work with all our partners to ensure the person only need tell their story once and that they have equal voice in co-ordinating their care and support. We understand promoting the importance of social justice and inclusion, respecting people’s rights, citizenship, and participation.
Joining us at this time will ensure you are at the forefront of helping to develop and embed co-production and co-delivery, delivering new models of working through our Adult Social Care framework, leading on streamlining our processes and contributing to our ambitious plans to fully embed our strengths-based practice, improve services and deliver better outcomes for the people of South Tyneside. We remain fully committed to supporting our staff to grow and develop, and we will provide you with the opportunity to use your skills and learn new ones. Through the development of our new Values and Behaviour Framework we will fully support staff to become Curious, Accountable, Responsive and Empowered (CARE).
If you are committed to adults having choice and control over their support, maximising opportunities for independence and well-being, then this is the job for you.
