We are seeking to appoint Residential Childcare Officers to work at Bedeburn short breaks homes based in Newcastle.
Bedeburn short breaks service is an Ofsted Outstanding Home, we offer short breaks to children with disabilities and are looking to increase our staff team following investment in the staffing structure. The shift will be 5 days a week on a 4 hour basis to help and support the young people with there morning routines, these 5 days will be spread across a 7 day week which will include weekends.  

The successful applicants will need to be resourceful, highly resilient with the ability to establish relationships quickly whilst working as part of a team towards agreed aims and objectives. Applicants must be able to demonstrate the ability to work with highly challenging behaviour and have a high level of resilience. We are committed to providing quality care and achieving positive outcomes for the young people we look after.

You will also be highly motivated, have good communication and IT skills and a clear understanding of needs of children and their families. Experience of residential care and an NVQ level 3 in children’s health and social care or above is essential for these posts. The successful applicants will be required to work shifts including evening and weekend work, as well as sleep-ins and night shifts as required. Additional payments during unsociable hours are also applicable to this post.
