You may have a background in Workforce and or Organisational Development either within the care or health industry or in the private sector.
 
If so we are looking for a creative mind and a drive for making a difference for social care staff and in turn people and or their carers who draw upon care and support.
 
The role of ASC Workforce and Development Officer will take a lead role in the development and delivery of the Adult Social Care and Commissioning Workforce and Organisational Development Strategy, influencing workforce planning, career pathways, organisational development and supporting the service change and improvement journey.
 
The postholder working collaboratively with colleagues will co-ordinate, implement and evaluate high-quality workforce development plans and initiatives that deliver sustainable improvements in practice and outcomes for people. A key objective within the Living Better Lives Strategy is to have a sustainable and skilled workforce. We know our workforce is our greatest asset and this role is key to supporting us in achieving our ambition.
 
The role will build upon our current approach and work with partners to learn and establish new approaches, they will also work closely with the South Tyneside Care Academy to maximise recruitment and retention within the care sector.
 
The successful applicant will also be responsible for ensuring there is a comprehensive training and development plan in place to complement our Let’s Talk Together approach. Let’s Talk Together is our practice framework which supports strengths-based practice within South Tyneside, so that we can really understand what is important to people.
 
The Workforce and Development Officer will have a strong organisational role - working collaboratively with staff and practitioners across Adult Social Care, Health and other partners to embed the workforce strategy.
