The Great North Museum: Hancock (GNM:H) is seeking a  Project Manager: Public Programmes to join our team. This role will manage the development and delivery of diverse public programmes, including exhibitions and events. As Project Manager, you will shape our annual programming to provide inclusive and engaging experiences, enhance audience engagement, and support delivery of our strategic priorities.  

Key responsibilities include managing the Public Programmes team, fostering a collaborative environment, and supporting professional development. You will oversee the creation and delivery of impactful, research-led public events and exhibitions, and ensure alignment with our commitment to decolonisation, diversity, and accessibility. Your role will involve continuing the development of our partnerships with national museums, academic researchers, artists, and community organisations, and collaborating closely with Newcastle University and other stakeholders to enhance programme reach and impact. Effective budget management is crucial, ensuring sustainability and profitability while developing income generation initiatives. You will collect and analyse feedback to continuously improve programmes and integrate sector best practices and innovations.  

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in developing and managing exhibition programmes, strong knowledge of audience development and community engagement methods, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders.
