In Newcastle we believe that families are our most important resource, and as the voice lead, you will be joining a supportive team of experienced professionals from education, health and social care who are committed to introducing and embedding Relational and Restorative Practice throughout all of its work.
The voice lead will be responsible for the recruitment and management of SEND youth voice trainees and work with them to make sure that our Parent/carers and our Children and Young people who have additional needs have their voices heard.
We are looking for people who can build strong relationships with children and young people with SEND and their families, so they feel heard and understood and are provided with the support they need when they need it. You will use your excellent communication and organisational skills, along with your knowledge and experience to ensure a joined up and informed approach to your work. A collaborative approach to working is key. You will have a dedication to learning and developing yourself in the role as well as sharing good practice, learning points and ideas with colleagues and the wider service for the benefit of the people who work within the service but also those who access our services.
Newcastle City Council offers the opportunity to work in a vibrant city within proactive and committed services with a genuine focus on establishing services and processes which support positive outcomes for the residents of Newcastle. As an employee of Newcastle City Council, you will access a flexible working scheme, have the ability to work from home as appropriate, as well as accessing annual leave and the Local Government Pension Scheme. As part of the SEND service, you will join a positive, supportive, and committed service, and will be a valued member where ideas and suggestions to continuously improve are shared and welcomed as part of a continual commitment to improvement. We recognise the importance of achieving a good work/life balance and can accommodate a variety of working patterns.
