We are committed to providing quality care and achieving positive outcomes for the young people we look after. We are seeking to appoint a Residential Child Care Officer for one of our well-established children’s homes on a full-time permanent basis. The successful applicant will need to be resourceful, highly resilient with the ability to establish relationships quickly whilst working as part of a team towards agreed aims and objectives. Applicants must be able to demonstrate the ability to work with highly challenging behaviour and have a high level of resilience. You may also, on occasion be asked to support in other Children’s homes currently ran by Newcastle city council.

You will also be highly motivated, have good communication and IT skills and a clear understanding of needs of children and their families. Experience of residential care and a recognized social work qualification or NVQ level 3 is desirable but not essential. The successful applicants will be required to follow a rota, pro rota weekend work with shift patterns and sleep-ins as required. Additional payments during unsociable hours are also applicable to this post.
