At Studio West we are passionate about providing the very best education possible for young people in our city, our region and nationally and our strong and committed team share our vision of ensuring all our students not only reach their potential but that they are confident, happy and resilient students who treat each other with compassion and respect. The Creative Faculty at Studio West encompasses both Technology and Art with an expanding department that offers our learners a broad range of courses, skills and progression opportunities.
Across the faculty Technology currently offers a range of specialist courses at GCSE and BTEC including Construction, and Hospitality and Catering. We are eager to appoint someone to continue to build upon our current offer at KS3 and KS4 in Resistant Materials, as well as helping to expand our pathway into 'Construction and the Built Environment', where learners gain real world and industry style contexts and experiences. We're currently in the process of expanding our practical learning environment with a designated plastering and tiling workshop along with a trade based outdoor classroom where students can learn the construction trade from the ground up.
All learners at KS3 have access to both Technology and Art as part of a fortnightly timetable model and uptake at GCSE and BTEC is continually strong. Learners really enjoy their creative and practical contact time and are becoming increasingly more confident in these subject areas, which is reflected in positive results. To help develop the Trust vision you will work alongside an experienced team of well-appointed and specialist staff, where you will be accountable to the Head of Faculty and Trust Director of Art and Technology.
You will possess a broad base of subject knowledge, a proven track record of effectiveness and impact as a classroom teacher, and strong analytical skills with the ability to use data effectively to track progress and raise achievement. If you have the skills, commitment and enthusiasm to succeed in this role, we want to hear from you.
In return we can offer you:
- Access to the Teachers’ Pension Scheme
- Cycle to work scheme
- Free on-site parking
- Free gym access at Kenton School
- Access to a range of health and wellbeing initiatives
We look forward to receiving your application.
