Safeguarding Business Manager
(South Tyneside)
£54,707 pa  
 
South Tyneside Safeguarding Adults Board (SAB), and Safeguarding Children’s Partnership (SCP) are seeking to recruit a Safeguarding Business Manager to support the work and development of safeguarding services in South Tyneside.
 
We have recently revised our Safeguarding arrangements and this structure provides an exciting opportunity to work with and further enhance the safeguarding services at a local level. We are looking for someone to support these arrangements and ensure we fulfil our statutory roles and meet our identified strategic priorities.
 
We are seeking a highly enthusiastic, committed, and experienced individual to take on this role driving forward the safeguarding agenda for people in South Tyneside and working with regional and national partners to enhance and influence this. 
 
Applicants should be able to demonstrate strategic leaderships skills, the ability to manage and deal with a range of safeguarding matters, have experience of chairing complex multi-agency meetings and producing effective outcomes, be able to challenge multi-agency  practice and drive forward change and improvement by promoting a culture of learning and development, have a sound knowledge and understanding of the legislation and guidance relating to safeguarding adults and children and work to ensure that the voice and engagement of people and their families are heard and recognised as part of the continuous improvement of  multi-agency safeguarding services.
 
Applications are invited from candidates with relevant professional experience in either health, social care, or the criminal justice system.  The Business Manager will represent and promote the image and reputation of South Tyneside’s Safeguarding Adults Board and Safeguarding Children’s Partnership and so should be an effective communicator which on occasions will include contact with members of the public and the media.
 
This is a permanent appointment and will be subject to review at 6 months and annual appraisals.
